Description
This is one of our best Syrah's coming out of Napa made by Rolando Herrera and his two brothers. Deep-Colored and Tannic, with strong tar, spice, pepper qualities. Syrahs are long-lived and marured slowly, and this Mi Suno gives you sweet blackberries, black currants and plums with hints of smokiness. Long ligering finsh this wine is serious juice.
History
In 1975, in search of a better way of life, my parents brought our family to the United States from the Mexican State of Michoacan. Today we are blessed by the opportunity to work for ourselves, doing something we love; making wine, and bottling it under our own label. When I was 17, I got my first job working in a vineyard. Warren Winiarski of Stag's Leap Wine Cellar gave me the chance to work in his winery after school and on weekends. I was a teenager and everything about the wines and the winery influenced me---the smell of the grape must, the feel of being surrounded by barrels and fermenting wine, and, even then, the knowledge that making wine is a part of history and culture. My dream grew: One day I would make my own wine. submerged myself in the wine industry for the next twelve years. I learned the craft of winemaking from generous and talented teachers. They were winemakers and cellar masters at some of Napa Valley's best wineries. In 1997, I finally made the leap into business for myself with just four tons of Chardonnay to work with. The Mi Sueno Winery was born. We produced just 250 cases that first year. Now, together with my brothers and my wife, we produce almost 3,000 cases per year of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah.
