Description
The youngest brother of the Brunello is the Rosso di Montalcino. It offers the same characteristics, born from the same grape, Sangiovese, but from younger vines. It is a wine which presents brilliant in color, very soft and pleasant, with distinct and clean scents of mature red fruits. A well-structured wine with a good body and a warm, persistent taste.
History
South of Montalcino, close by the small medieval village of S.Angelo in Colle, is located Pian di Conte, the head office of Talenti Winery, housed in buildings of ancient origin that face onto the beautiful Orcia river valley. The Winery was founded in 1980 when Pierluigi Talenti decided to acquire the property which had so enchanted him since the 1950's, the period in which he decided to relocate from the mountains of Emilia Romagna to the beautiful and isolated hills of the Montalcino region. With the experience and the long cloning research made on the territory of Montalcino it was possible for the winery to elevate itself to the highest levels of quality with respect to traditional teachings. The winery consists of 40 hectares in total: 20 hectares of vines (Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino and I.G.T.), 4 hectares of a specialized olive grove, and the remaining consisting of an orchard, woodland and native bushland .
